1. What inspired TailsMart's evolution, and what's your vision for pet care?


Abhishek DG: TailsMart was inspired by my experience as a breeder during the COVID-19 pandemic when I saw a lack of quick solutions for pet food and accessories. Observing the success of AI and Zepto’s 10-minute delivery model, we envisioned a hyperlocal platform connecting local pet stores. TailsMart aims to revolutionize pet care in India by providing efficient, personalized services using AI for tailored advice, quick diagnostics, and better care. By empowering local stores, we ensure faster deliveries and a wider range of products at competitive prices, making pet care more compassionate, inclusive, and accessible for pet owners.

2. What challenges arose in developing Dr. Tails and ZOCO AI, and how will they transform pet care?


Abhishek DG: Inspired by ChatGPT, we developed Dr. Tails and ZOCO AI to revolutionize pet care through AI. Starting with limited data, we collaborated with vets and students to build a robust dataset. ZOCO AI offers basic pet care advice, while Dr. Tails, trained on 10 billion parameters, assists vets with precise diagnostics, prescriptions, and even X-ray analysis. Aimed at enhancing, not replacing, vets, Dr. Tails accelerates diagnoses and improves accuracy, especially in emergencies. As AI continues to reshape industries, we are committed to making pet care more efficient, accessible, and personalized, ensuring better outcomes for pets and their owners.


3. Which TailsMart business model is most promising, and what new monetization strategies are you exploring?


Abhishek DG: Our hyperlocal delivery model connects local pet stores to customers, allowing quick deliveries at competitive prices. Pet stores pay a subscription fee to be listed, gaining a broader customer base and the ability to compete with large online platforms. Pet owners enjoy faster, cost-effective deliveries. We're expanding with user subscriptions for added benefits like discounts and early access, plus exploring AI-driven solutions like Dr. Tails for vets and a freemium model for ZOCO AI. While monetization is key, our prime focus is on delivering top-notch value, believing financial success follows exceptional service and innovation.




4. Are there other strategic partnerships or collaborations planned, especially in AI, veterinary sciences, or international markets?

 

Abhishek DG: We’re expanding through strategic partnerships, like with ONDC to onboard local vendors, supporting small businesses and offering better choices to customers. Collaborations with AWS, Microsoft, and OpenAI have brought in $225k in grants, boosting our tech with advanced analytics, machine learning, and scalable infrastructure. We’re also exploring alliances with veterinary schools, global associations, shelters, and NGOs to enhance AI models and adoption platforms. Partnerships with pet insurance and travel services will offer a holistic user experience. These collaborations strengthen our mission to innovate and build a more inclusive, efficient, and comprehensive pet care ecosystem.


5. How will TailsMart collaborate with shelters and NGOs, and how will AI boost pet adoption?


Abhishek DG:Our adoption platform provides shelters with advanced tech tools to manage pet profiles, and medical records, and connect with potential adopters, all in one place. By integrating AI, we offer personalized pet recommendations based on medical reports and traits, ensuring better adoption matches. Beyond tech, we collaborate closely with shelters, offering training and support to maximize their use of our platform. We run campaigns promoting responsible pet ownership and adoption. Our AI analyzes data to improve adoption rates and supports new pet parents with care plans via ZOCO AI. We aim to make adoption more efficient, personalized, and inclusive, creating lasting bonds between pets and families. Additionally, integrating our platform with TailsMart services, like hyperlocal delivery and telemedicine, offers a seamless experience for new pet owners.




6. How does TailsMart ensure data privacy and security in AI, especially with veterinary and telemedicine services?


Abhishek DG: At TailsMart, data privacy, security, and ethics are paramount. We store data on encrypted servers and enforce strict access controls, allowing only authorized personnel to access sensitive information. Our AI models, like Dr. Tails, are trained on anonymized data to protect user identities. We maintain transparency about AI capabilities and have an ethics committee to oversee AI development, ensuring ethical practices. We comply with GDPR and the Indian Personal Data Protection Bill, with regular team training to uphold these standards. We aim to provide a secure, responsible, and trustworthy platform for our users.


7. What milestones do you aim to achieve in two years, and are there any plans for global expansion?

 

Abhishek DG: Over the next two years, TailsMart plans to expand across India, starting with Tier 1 cities in South India, followed by northern markets. We’ll open dark stores for quick deliveries and raise funds to enhance our platform. In 2025, we'll launch a Pet Services module offering grooming, training, boarding, and veterinary care, creating a one-stop shop for pet owners. We’re also exploring international expansion, focusing initially on Southeast Asia, and leveraging partnerships with global veterinary associations. These steps will strengthen TailsMart's position as a leader in the pet care industry, providing innovative, tech-driven solutions for pet owners.
